Dear Marilyn; I was googling around with my MOTHERS name, Bas Sheva and your
site appeared. I was wondering if you recalled her cantorial singing as well as
her pop style. She was popular in the Catskills in the 50's. You probably worked
many times with her husband , the pianist and bandleader Al Hausman. He led bands
at The New Roxy, Gilberts, and Youngs Gap to name a few. He also had a long association
with The Fairmont Hotel in Lakewood, NJ. I hope to hear any memories you might
have. ....Sincerely, Mark

It looks like your lovely guest book was "spammed" pretty badly by all sorts
of madness (mostly advertisers for things you don't want to know about, trust
me). Anyway, I finally got that copy of "I Wonder Who's Kissing Him Now." It's
still great. Thank you for triggering a host of memories from a certain summer
back when no one needed a computer or cell phone, and there were so many more
of us around to enjoy the sunshine (and the nights). Luv, Ray

Dear Marilyn, I'm a professional pianist (hence my screen name!) who has always
been in awe of you. I remember seeing you knock me for a loop on the Mike Douglas
Show in the '60s, and many other times since. (My personal fave: a show you did
w/Steve Lawrence, where you did impressions of everyone while dueting w/him) I
did not know until this website about your family background, which impresses
& delights me no end. 2 questions: what's Mark up to these days, and will you
be touring anytime soon? Would drown in my own nachas if I could see/hear you
perform live. Take care, Wayne Madison

dear marilyn, i haven't seen your appearance schedule in years. you are one
of my 4 favorite entertainers/singers of all time (right up there with bette,
barbra and edie gorme). you have the power to bring a smile to someone as soon
as you walk on stage - which is my main criteria for that "top billing". over
30 years ago, i heard you sing yiddisha mama - and that was partially responsible
for my entry into the singing profession...AND ONE OF THE RARE CHILLS GIVEN TO
ME BY ANY SINGER (equal to hearing pavarotti hit High C) BUT I CAN'T FIND THAT
RECORDING!!! can you please tell me where to get it and send me anything on your
appearances near the new york city area. thank you again for all the pleasures!

Hi Marilyn: Been waxing nostalgic after having a long talk with my son who
asked,"Daddy, what did Grandpa Sherry do for a living?" Now my son never met my
dad (He passed in 1992), but I went on to explain that he was a comedy writer
for most of the comedians/comediennes in the Borscht belt (Borscht Belt, he asked?).
We met when I was WAY younger and living in NY. Anyway, been starting to try to
contact some of the people my dad wrote for to say hi! I forgot just how many
people he wrote for. Saw Jackie Mason once, who told me my Dad was a "Wasted"
talent . . . not sure if it was a compliment. Anyway, I hope this note finds you
well! Perhaps I'll have the opportunity to see you perform one day in FL! Warmest
regards! ___________________________________ Tracey "Wayne"

In 1968 I was 19, and during an ordinary visit to a friend's place your version
of "I Wonder Who's Kissing Him Now" played once on the radio. Just once, in the
background while we talked in the sunny front room, I was not even aware that
I'd paid much attention to it. I do remember thinking "Oh wow, listen, somebody
got some mileage out of that old thing, didn't she?" Still, I was paying enough
attention to catch your name when the song was over. I remember thinking "Yeah,
I saw her on Merv Griffin a couple times; she's the one who did the single 'I'm
Naive' from that Liza Minelli TV musical version of Red Riding Hood. She does
impressions, too." Anyway, your version of "I Wonder Who's Kissing Him Now" stayed
in my head for days in a pleasant way. When I told my friends about it, they laughed.
How "good" could it be? they would say, so I bought the damned thing and played
it for them one afternoon when we were just a little stoned. We played that 45
for an hour. There was just something breezy and alive in your interpretation,
yet the song's wistfullness was still in there, honey. Over the years I've thought
of that song like the fellow IN the song was being thought of, and so I finally
today went on the web and located a copy of it. I really can't wait to hear it
again, even if the buddies with whom I first shared it are all dead. Anyway, I
never wrote a fan letter in my life, but I'm happy you're still performing and
wish you the best. Ray Keebaugh

Dear Ms. Michaels, My name is Joe Preston. I am the cousin and Godson of Jackie
Curtis. My Grandmother Slugger Ann owned the bar on 12th St.and 2nd ave. I am
currently co-producing a major documentary on the life and times of Curtis and
was wondering if you might be interested in doing a cameo interview for the film.
I remember that both of you were friends and I even remember when he and I ran
into you once on 12th street and walking away with Curtis saying how much he adored
you. You can visit the progress of the film at Jackiecurtis.com. Click on "Superstar..."
and you can navigate to see who has already been interviewed. We will be doing
Harvey Weinstein in about a month as well. I know you are very busy with your
current schedule, but if you decide to join in, we will work around you, and we
are very professional and cogniscent of your time. Thank you so much for being
such a good friend to Curtis during his life. Sincerely, Joe Preston 212-673-4388

Hi Marilyn...You don't know me - but I remember you. It was at Schencks Paramount
in So. Fallsburgh - in the very early 50's. Your Uncle Moishe (I idolized him)was
performing there. My father became friendly with him that weekend (my father had
been singing in a choir for the high holy days since he was 13, so they had something
to talk about). I am62 years old, and if I remember correctly, you should be somewhere
around my age - a little younger probably. I didn't know then how special you
were - but as the years went by, it may sound silly, but it's as if I was a part
of your family and was so proud of you. When your Uncle Moishe passed on I was
in California and my mother called me to let me know...it was raining that day,
but there was more rain inside from me. I've always wanted to touch base with
you, and finally today I just checked to see if you had a web side and voila!
- here you are. I wish you and your family only the best of health & happiness

Hi, Marilyn! I know you remember Danny's little boy. You've got a great site,

Hi Marilyn ... Hope this email finds you well. I just sent you a CD in the
mail from Brenna Censullo, a young girl who appeared with you in Recycled Art
Magazine Issue # 4. She has been composing songs since she was 6 years old. She
asked me to send you a copy of her CD, so it should be coming in the mail soon.
How's that talented son of yours doing these days? Have a wonderful Holiday season!
Best Wishes! Sharon

Carissima! The only thing that does not translate in this website is the fact
that you are the greatest friend. I do so enjoy our evenings together when we
resolve the problems of the universe! I'll bet that not everyone knows that you
have this philosophical bent! You are not just another pretty face but a woman
of depth and perspicacity! And, I didn't mention your sensuality! Only kidding-
Crazy about our relationship and "If we didn't know each other so well we would

dear Ms. Michaels, my name is shannon pollack and I am 10 years old. I saw
your show at the Raleigh Hotel this past summer and thought it was terrific. I
loved it!! you are so beautiful and so funny. you really made me laugh. I talked
with you in the hotel lobby after the show. I went to the Raleigh with my mommy
(Wendy) and my aunt (Robin) and uncle (Michael). They have been going to the catskills
all their lives and want me to be a part of it. a lot has happened since I saw
your show. my aunt Robin and uncle Michael had a baby. they had a boy and named
him Logan Eric. He is my cousin AND I am also his Godmother. During his bris I
also was honored by being named for my late grandmother (Sadye). another thing
that happened to me is that on the day after Logan's bris, I was diagnosed with
juvenile diabetes. Now and forever, I will have to watch what I eat and take injections
a few times a day. I am hoping very much that my mommy, aunt Robin, uncle Michael
and cousin Logan and I will all go to The Raleigh again during my winter vacation.
I love it there. I hope you are ok and I know you are very busy, but I would love
to hear from you, if you have a moment. I hope I can see you again soon. love,
shannon pollack

Dear Marilyn: I remember a show called "The CopyCats". I couldn't wait for
it to come on each week. I've always enjoyed your work but did not know about
your art until I visited your web page. Is there anything you can't do???? I will
check back often to see if you will be appearing in my part of Pennsylvania. I'd
love to see you perform live. PS: Whatever became of Fred Travolina? Do you know?
Ever hear from him?

I was reading your Bio on this site, and you seem to skip over a lot about
the early part of your performing career. Did you happen to do any recording,
circa 1960, specifically for RCA Victor? The song in question is "Tell Tommy I
Miss Him" (b/w "Everyone Was There But Me"), which was the answer to Ray Peterson's
"Tell Laura I Love Her". Are you the same "Marilyn Michaels"? It sure sounds like
you, but I'd just like to get some confirmation. I've enjoyed your performances
since I first saw you on the Copycats TV show, with Frank Gorshin, Rich Little,
and John Byner. I'm glad to see and hear you're still at it.

I was watching TV LAND last nite and was watching a 1960's rerun of Ed Sullivan
and saw Ms Michaels and she was SUCH a childhood memory for me! I am 42 yrs old
now and sing in my area and do a bit of comedy and I always thought those times
I saw Marilyn on Ed Sullivan really inspired me to do what I am doing now. I honestly
did not know that Marilyn was working anymore. After seeing the old Sullivan show
I decided to look her up on the net and found this website and I am SO Happy to
see Marilyn still beautiful and still talented!! I hope one day to catch one of

Hi, Marilyn. Though a computer fanatic, today was the first time I was ever
on your site and several things made me laugh out loud. I am your brother Michael's
friend and former co-worker of 15 years at I.S. 131. We've met twice--at Michael's
surprise 39th birthday party (He told me you thought I was very nice) and while
making a shiva call, with my wife, at your apartment. I've had my own humor Web
site for 14 months, featuring all of my own writing which changes daily. I also
hosted a humor-oriented rock music show for 4 1/2 years on WFUV--90.7 FM. I've
amassed 253 pages of comedy, some of which I think is terrific. I'd like to give
up teaching to become a staff writer for Conan O'Brien, David Letterman, Saturday
Night Live, or Comedy Central, but was told I need an agent. Can you refer me
to one? Thanks so much and stay well!! Lew

Hi Marilyn: I am blown away by your talent. I've only seen you on television
in the past, but thought it would be fun to see you in person. My husband and
both laughed alot and had a great time. I just wanted to let you know that I bought
your CD , "A Mother's Voice" for my Mom to give to her for Hanukkah and was so
thrilled that you signed it for her. You promised me that she would love it and
as soon as I got home I listened to it. You were right! She will love it! It has
so many songs that I remember her singing along to when I was a child..."Impossible
Dream", "September Song". I myself found "If I Could" to be especially beautiful
and it made me think alot about my 3 little boys. Speaking of little boys, I thought
that perhaps it was Mother's Pride that had you include your son on the CD, but
quite honestly, he has a beautiful, clear voice. I'm sorry he isn't doing more
duets with you. Again, thank you for a truly wonderful evening; it wasn't long
enough. But it ws the 2nd show of the night and know you were tired. A Grateful

Hi Marilyn: More years ago that either of us would admit to, I was a young
drummer in a Catskill Band--the Cherry Hill Hotel in Greenfield Park (near Tamarack).
You and your mother came to perform in the "casino" and, as I recall, were outstanding.
After the show, you and I sat for hours under a beautiful starry night, on cold
Adirondack chairs on the front lawn, talking life. I remember it as a lovely and
peaceful moment. I went on to law school and became a senior partner in a NY law
firm. Anyhow, from the perspective of more than 40 years, congrats on a successful
career. Fondly, Jerry Eisenberg...

Dear Marilyn, I just wanted to send you a quick note to tell you that I've
been a fan of yours forever...well, at least since a little before The Copycats
went on the air. I hope all is well with you, and should you be in Beverly Hills
on the second Wednesday of the month, please stop by our decadent little club,
Jet Set. Reverend Dan PS: You're looking great! I'm so happy!

Hello Marily, Just surfed in and was very happy to find your site, one of my
favourite recordings is an album you did (maybe 30 years ago!) it has Bill Bailey
Won't You Please Come Home, Carnival, Supper Time and lots of other great songs
- any chance that this album would be released on CD? Met you a few times in the
late 60's just on the street (used to live on east 57th) of course we were both
children! All the best from Ireland.

Dear Marilyn, Enjoyed your wonderful show at Queens Theatre in the Park on
Saturday night; I stopped by the lobby after the show and you were signing copies
of your CDs. I told you I already had both of them. You were kind enough to sign
my program and expressed regret that I had not brought my CDs with me for you
to sign. A lovely gesture on your part. I enjoy these recordings, as well as your
earlier ones on--yes--vinyl! I've been following your career since the early days
when variety shows were popular television staples. I have recordings of some
of them and would have liked to hear you do Connie Francis and Teresa Brewer at
Q-TIP. Maybe next time. All the best.

can be adapted for promotional purposes for these kinds of funraisers/pre-publicity.

It's a fabulous site -- I mean really terrific -- Marilyn, but let me tell
you what it lacks. You really need at least one sound byte -- a minute or so --
so that people can refresh themselves as to how wonderful you really sound and/or
familiarize themselves if they've never heard/seen you. My God, you could even
include video here. Even if you don't want to sing (because you might feel the
quality compromised via the net), you can give a sense of a few of your thousand
voices. Just a thought. Didn't know you were working on an autobiography....how
far have you come on that? I'll try and call in the next couple of weeks. Great
talking to you at Frieda's party...wish we had had longer.
